Sure to Amuse Your Family - A Visit to the Fantastic Dallas Zoo
The Dallas Zoo, with 95 acres of land to explore, and tons of adventure to be had, will not prove anything short of spectacular as an experience for you and your family. The zoo houses 406 species and 1,800 animals(6,800 counting invertebrates). This does not include the additional 375 species of marine and freshwater animals residing in the zoo.
Open on all days except Christmas, come hail or snow, the zoo provides a large variety of attractions to keep your family enthralled and excited for as long as they are here, and for pretty long after they've left. Wings of Wonder, the birds of prey and vulture exhibit, is constantly remodelled and expanded to include more inhabitants. The ExxonMobil endangered tiger habitat closely resembles a forest in the process of post-logging regrowth. For the little troublemakers, the Dallas Zoo brings Primate Place, a collection of a variety of monkeys from Africa and South America. Kids can also spend time at the Lacerte Family Children's Zoo and enjoy the experience of a petting zoo and pony rides.
The Pierre A Fontaine Birld and Reptile Building is one of the few in the country to house the Tuatara and the only one to house the Perentie monitors. One may also spend a good 20 minutes on the Monorail ride through the Wilds of Africa.
Founded in 1888, The zoo is the first in the southwest, and largest in all of Texas.
