The Majestic Theater
The Majestic Theater, with the Renaissance baroque exterior styling and its long history, is one of the most significant structures in Dallas that are related to the entertainment scene of the city. It has been around since 1921 and it has been one of the most of dominating structures in Dallas.
It was originally meant for screening the silent films of the era and also for the live musical performances of the big bands of that time. After the era of the silent films ended and the talkies began, the Majestic Theater went in to a decline. So much so that it had to be shut down in 1973.
Three years later, the building's owner gave the building as a gift to the city. The theater was then repaired and restored to the best of the abilities of the city. It was subsequently re-opened in 1983 amidst a lot of expectations and anticipations. This historical place since then has served its original purpose of entertaining the masses.
It is also commonly used for banquets and other private events like weddings. The official website lists all the upcoming events and provides the necessary information for booking and buying tickets.
